2017/2018 Literacy Month Results

- Throughout the month of March, we celebrated literacy at PSI with our annual Literacy Month. This year the focus of Literacy Month was on Creative Writing and Storytelling and it was promoted with a wide range of activities, workshops and events that involved students, teachers, staff and parents.
- Students were challenged to participate in the Reading challenge - Reading bingo 2018. All students who participated in the challenge and returned their bingo boards by the end of Thursday, 29th March will get a certificate of completion. Completing the whole board receives a Reading Ninja Certificate plus a mystery prize.
- Secondary school students had the opportunity once again to prove themselves risk-takers and have a Blind Date With a Book. They chose a package from many identically wrapped books and had to commit to reading whatever was inside.
- We were very happy to welcome Dominic Carrillo and Cat Weatherill as our visiting authors. They worked with students in Grades 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 on creative writing and storytelling.
- For the sixth year running MYP Students in Grades 6 - 8 had the opportunity to choose their favourite books and authors. Now we can announce this year’s Top Authors 2017/2018. The full list is available on the PSI Library website.

- PSI hosted two Book Fairs in March. Over 95,000 UAH worth of books were sold to students, parents and visitors which allowed the library to receive more than 30 books for free.
- During the Literacy Month students had the opportunity to earn some house points for their houses by participating in the quiz as well as Read my T-shirt and Book character dress up days. Thank you to all students who participated in these events and won house points for their houses.
